Awarded for the best project work completed while studying Level 3 (National Certificate / Diploma / NVQ / C&G / A Levels / or similar).
Applicants must have studied / worked at a location in Northern Ireland and achieved a Level 3 Qualification (National Certificate / Diploma / NVQ / C&G / A-Levels / or similar) in mechanical engineering or a related engineering topic and may have studied part-time or on-line.
The Prize will be awarded to the candidate submitting the best project work that has a significant mechanical engineering content. The project must be associated with the Level 3 Study at a location in Northern Ireland, but the project work may have been conducted at college or in the workplace. The work must have been conducted whilst studying for the Level 3 Qualification, but not necessarily as part of it.
Entrants must demonstrate outstanding commitment to their professional development and show how they have made a positive difference to their company. They should have gone above and beyond their normal duties by taking on extra responsibilities.
Any charity or voluntary work is relevant, especially related to engineering and encouraging young people into engineering. Apprentices must also show a career plan for the next three to five years.
